Baidu has partnered with Inspur Cloud to enhance its AI infrastructure capabilities, particularly in the realm of AI computing. One notable collaboration is the development of the X-MAN 4.0, the world’s first rack-scale AI computing product compliant with the Open Accelerator Infrastructure (OAI) standard. This collaboration leverages Inspur’s expertise in AI hardware and Baidu’s leadership in AI research and development.

Key Highlights of the Collaboration:

• X-MAN 4.0: Developed jointly by Inspur and Baidu, this system is optimized for deep neural network applications. It features eight AI accelerators based on Intel Nervana’s Spring Crest chip in a single box, with scalability up to 32 accelerators per rack. The system offers significant advantages over traditional GPU servers in terms of performance, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness. 

• OAI Compliance: The X-MAN 4.0 adheres to the OAI standard, simplifying the design complexity of AI accelerator systems. This compliance allows for faster deployment and integration, reducing the time-to-market for AI solutions. 

• UBB System: Inspur’s UBB system, part of this collaboration, delivers breakthrough efficiency, flexibility, and management. It supports multiple interconnect topologies, including Hybrid Cube Mesh and Fully Connected, to accommodate diverse network architectures.
